Jimmy Mizen Foundation Visit

Visit by The Jimmy Mizen Foundation - Monday 9th February

posted 28 Jan 2015, 02:57 by   [ updated 28 Jan 2015, 08:49 ]

On Monday 9th February the school will be hosting a visit from Barry and Margaret Mizen on behalf of The Jimmy Mizen Foundation.

The visit will take the form of a presentation and discussions with KS3 and KS4 students relating to anger, confrontation and violence within our communities and the positive approaches and changes young people can make to create a safer environment for themselves and others.

Please follow this link to read more about the work of The Jimmy Mizen Foundation:

We are hugely grateful for the visit - The message of The Foundation runs parallel to our philosophy towards violence and negative behaviour and we are confident that our students will gain enormous benefit from the workshop.

Chromebook Roll Out

posted 23 Jan 2015, 05:34 by   [ updated 27 Jan 2015, 01:05 by Richard Sparks ]

This week has seen the successful roll out of Chromebooks for Year 11 students.

The Chromebooks offer students access to a range of Google apps for education to support learning.

In addition, students are able to collaborate on projects, send and receive homework directly to their subject teachers and complete independent research.

We are listening to feedback from staff and students and hope to deploy the remainder of the Chromebooks to other year groups throughout this academic year.
